Thinking to design your wall or wall decor without spending much money, time and mess?
Today I am feeling pretty much artistic with my wall art and wants to share the whole experience so that you can also be on cloud 9 with the same feel. How you can design your wall without any mess and spending much money on professional to do it for you or on costly wallpapers to decor your wall. Professional charges around 6000 INR. As I don’t want to spend the very high amount of the professional and can’t tolerate the mess they leave during and after the work. To save my money and time decided to do it by myself.
You can also design your wall in few hours using economic materials which come under 600 INR. I purchased Royale- Royal golden color of Asian paints to match my saffron colored wall, you should also first find the best color match for your wall before purchase so that the design you are going to make come out perfectly. Then I purchased wall stencils, there were so many other stencils too from Asian Paints Play wall fashion brocade stencil set of brocade no. 10321740122. 🙂
Here, you can see the whole journey of wall decor with images. I will share the whole step by step tutorial with you.
The materials you would need are
- 250 ml paint (Asian paints royale-royal golden) Brocade no.10321740122 (Price 187 INR)
- Small sized roller (Price 50 INR)
- Medium sized paint brush (Price 30 INR)
- Plastic bowl
- Measuring tape
- Design wall Stencils (Price 250 INR)
- Paper tape
Tutorial
- First of all, Wipe off the dirt from the wall with a dry cloth.
- Then start from the side of the wall by placing the wall stencil with the help of the paper tape:
2. Then arrange the other wall stencils above it. I wanted the close pattern so I overlapped them to the desired distance.
3. Then Take 100 ml paint in a bowl and add 30 ml water and mix well. I suggest not to take whole paint at once. Take other 100 ml after consuming first part. It will not let the paint dry and will avoid wastage.
4. Apply the Asian paints royale on roller with the help of paint brush. Never dip the roller in the paint, it will lead to spillage of paint and chances are that the paint will drip. The most important point to remember.
4. Now start painting on the wall stencil one by one evenly on the stencil and the pressure should not be high and also the stencil should be painted properly to cover the complete design. Leave it for 5 mins.
5. Apply the second coat. It should be applied with very light pressure.
Then carefully remove the tape and slowly peel off the stencil starting from the top (Do not let it dry otherwise it will stick to the paint and It won’t give clean design).
6. After completing these columns we will start making column between them by placing the wall stencil in the center of the 2 designs and 6 inches (half of the length of the stencil) above the level.
7. Paint the stencil and after completing one column, proceed to the other column similarly like above.
8. After you are done, you will be with these results:
It is so symmetric resembling a wallpaper. The wall can be wiped off with a wet or dry cloth both after the paint has dried completely, the color will not run off.
I hope this tutorial on wall decor was helpful.
See you soon
